Christmas Event 2022

The Christmas Event 2022 is an event that began on December 21st, 2022 and ended on January 22nd, 2023. Upon joining Murder Mystery 2, players would be greeted with the new Christmas-themed lobby designed by Zyleak. The voting room represented Saint Nikilis’ workshop, and the lobby’s exterior followed a similar design to the preceding Christmas events.

Battle Pass

The Battle Pass during this event consists of 20 tiers, all of which, in the exception of the first tier and the 20th tier, cost 700 snow tokens. The first tier is free, and the final tier can be purchased for a total of 75,000 snow tokens in exchange for the ancient gun Icepiercer.

Mystery Box

During the event, there was a new Mystery Box available to be opened called the 2022 Christmas Box. To open it, players would need to turn in 700 Snow Tokens or 1 Snow Key .

During the event, one new map called Ice Castle was introduced. It was designed by Zyleak, an official map builder for Murder Mystery 2. Three old maps from previous Christmas events made a return, those being Workshop, Log Cabin, and Train Station.

Exchange

In the shop, players were given the option to exchange 100 Snow Tokens for 100 coins. However, coins could not be exchanged for snow tokens. Players could do this as many times as they wished.

Icecrusher Evolution

The Icecrusher Gamepass is the annual limited-time offer for the event. The gamepass costs 1,699 Robux, and contains the Evo knife Icecrusher. Upon purchasing the gamepass, it initially starts as a rare knife, but as you gain XP, it evolves into a higher rarity. For example, the rare variant would evolve into the legendary variant, and the legendary variant would then evolve into the godly variant. However, once purchased, it cannot be traded to other players.

Gifting Center

The gifting center was where Gifts could be purchased for 1,000 Snow Tokens . These Gifts could only be open on other players. Inside the Gift was a random item from any Mystery Box. Giving 100 Gifts would reward the player with Gingermint.

Every annual Christmas event from the 2019 Christmas Event onward had two separate leaderboards; one for Token-Collecting and one for Gift-Giving . Purchasing snow tokens did not count towards the Token-Collecting leaderboard, meaning that players could only obtain such snow tokens by collecting them during rounds. However, the leaderboard during this event was a bit different than the preceding holiday leaderboards, because the Token-Collecting leaderboard paused on December 23rd, 2022. This meant that no matter how many snow tokens a player collected, it did not count towards the leaderboard until it unpaused on December 26th, 2022. In total, the leaderboard this year lasted for thirteen days from the day of the release, December 21st, 2022, to January 3rd, 2023.

Trivia

• This is the 8th annual Christmas event to occur.
• The Amazon Prime Gaming rewards were released the same day this event began.
• This is the second event to introduce an evolving system (known as Evo), the first being the 2021 Halloween Event.
• This is the first Christmas event since the 2016 Christmas Event to not have any obtainable pets, emotes, or radios.
• This is the fourth time the Gifting Center was brought back to the game.
• All of the weapons obtainable during this event were designed by IDontHaveAUse.
• This is the first event to implement a brief pause in the leaderboard.
• There was an Easter egg in the lobby where if you placed the red present in the voting room on the "x" in front of Saint Nikilis' Office, the door would open, granting access to the hidden office.
• Inside the display case in Saint Nikilis' Office was the Bloxcon Hall of Fame 2014, the 4th Annual Bloxy Award, the 5th Annual Bloxy Award, the 7th Annual Bloxy Award, a mask of the clown from Scary Mode, and the Murder Mystery 2 Knife Crown.
• It would cost a player 88,300 snow tokens (equivalent to about 6,600 Robux) to purchase all twenty tiers in the Battle Pass and 100,000 snow tokens (equivalent to about 7,900 Robux) to earn the godly gun Gingermint through the Gifting Center.
• This event had no toys, radios, nor pets whatsoever.
